The big picture
refreshed 14:32, reviewed 08:12 by NikolasWhere things stand for Qatar in Washington right now
Washington's attention to Qatar this week is domestic, not diplomatic. Two Gulf Coast LNG export decisions moved onto a fast track overnight, a Section 117 hearing is now on the calendar for the 17th, and Texas has put sovereign-backed land ownership on its interim agenda. None of it is framed as Middle East policy; all of it lands on Qatari interests. The mediation narrative is quieter and still favourable. The one genuine anomaly is a CENTCOM posture notice that, for the first time in three cycles, omits the standard Gulf basing language.
